Kipabiskau Water Sports Club
The Kipabiskau Water Sports Club was founded in 1984 by five dedicated families; the Clunies, Norms, Lestrats, Nontells, and Pritchards. Since its formation, the KWSC has produced some of the province's most influential water sports enthusiasts. Many KWSC members paved the way for fellow provincial athletes to train and compete on the world's stage. We are very proud of our home-grown talent that has represented Saskatchewan and Canada. Several of our athletes have held provincial, national and even world records and have been members of Provincial, National, and Pan American Teams.
In 1991, the KWSC began hosting an annual learn to ski clinic. This program boomed from the very beginning. With over fifty participants and more volunteers than needed, the club thrived and became an integral part of the local community. In more recent years, the club has adapted well to the rise in popularity of wakeboarding and has held several wakeboard clinics and tournaments including the annual Flying Beaver Big Air Championship which is now in its third season.
The KWSC has seen many changes in the past twenty years, but one thing has remained constant; the community involved and surrounding the KWSC is passionate and committed to the enjoyment and expansion of water sports at all levels of participation.
