The 3rd Annual Flying Beaver Big Air Wakeboard Championship
KIPABISKAU REGIONAL PARK
June 23rd - 25th, 2006
With an entirely new executive, the Kipabiskau Water Sports Club is passionate and devoted to this event, hoping to make it a memorable tournament for both competitors and spectators. The KWSC is attempting to make this year’s event the biggest water sports spectacle Kip has ever seen while not compromising the essential components of a first-rate wakeboard tournament. While most plans are still to be finalized the following is a list of what we think will make this year’s event the best Kip has hosted.
- New format for Big Air – Top 2 riders from each region advance to compete for the Flying Beaver Big Air Cup.
- North Riders vs. Central Riders vs. South Riders, creating a friendly provincial rivalry.
- A Tournament Village
- All riders, sponsors, and spectators who choose, will be given a camp site in one block section, allowing people to socialize, meet new people, and make sure no one sleeps in for their ride.
- Beach Volley Ball Tournament
- This will be an all-ages beach volleyball tournament to expand on the events of the weekend. Teams of 4 will play against each other in a round robin tournament format for fun, prizes, and spectator entertainment.
- Beer Gardens
- Tournaments at Kip seem to be blessed each time with hot sunny weather, the water may not be the calmest we would like, but the sunshine is always there. This year we will have just the thing to quench your thirst.
- On-Water Obstacles
- The tournament will see a 40+ foot slider as well as a 5 foot ski jump, giving the riders excellent opportunity to impress the judges and the crowded beach.
- Saskatoon Water Sports Continued Commitment to the Sport
- Saskatoon Water Sports has committed to supplying a world-class wakeboard boat for the event.
- Promotion
- The KWSC will have articles in numerous newspapers, plenty of radio air-time, hundreds of posters across the province, as well as a press release covered by several of Saskatchewan’s top media sources to ensure this event is very well attended.
